Abu Marawat
ABU MARAWAT CONCESSION
Aton’s 100% owned Abu Marawat Concession is located in the Central Eastern Desert of Egypt, approximately 200km north of Centamin’s Sukari gold mine. Aton has identified numerous gold occurrences throughout the entirety of the concession area, including the Hamama deposit in the west and the Abu Marawat polymetallic deposit in the northeast.
In addition to Hamama and Abu Marawat, Aton is now focussed on advancing the Rodruin target which was discovered in December 2017, and completed a first pass RC drilling programme in 2018 at Rodruin. In addition, Aton has identified and undertaken preliminary exploration over numerous gold exploration prospects and targets, including two historic British era mines. There is good evidence for a variety of different gold mineralisation styles within the concession, and also potential for base metal as well as gold and polymetallic mineralisation. Abu Marawat is 447.7 km2 in size and is located in an area of excellent infrastructure, a four-lane highway, railway line, a 220kV power line and a water pipeline are in close proximity.
